Get to know your Shortcuts

Ken

Keyboard shortcuts are a simple way to save a few seconds with tasks your run every day in ARCHICAD.

For example, to get to Layer Settings you can use various onscreen buttons or Options> Element Attributes> Layer Settings… OR you can press Cmd+L / Ctrl+L.

Learning a few more Keyboard Shortcuts can help increase your productivity – and ARCHICAD has lots of them to keep you busy!

To see a list of all the shortcuts in ARCHICAD – go to Options> Work Environment> Keyboard Shortcuts and click Show Shortcut List in Browser as highlighted below:

This will launch your default browser and display a list of ALL the shortcuts currently set in ARCHICAD.  The most important ones to learn are the ones at the very bottom of the list (Non-customizable shortcuts) as knowing and understanding these can make a big difference to your productivity.

"We use Archicad exclusively in our office for all phases of design. We have developed a template over the last several years that saves us time on every project. We are also very pleased with the graphical output, using the software to produce project maps, construction documents, 3D details and photo real renderings that update automatically as the design evolves. Our clients are impressed with our ability to study various options on the fly using Archicad."

“Having used Revit and Archicad extensively, I can without hesitation say that Archicad is BIM for architects. The ease of workflow from pre-design to schematic design to construction documents makes it ideal. There are so many time saving features. The fact that I can collaborate globally with minimal setup and that I can create anything my imagination comes up with is a great benefit to my architectural practice.”
