Find those elements, wherever they are!

Ken

This has to be one of the simplest and easiest commands in ARCHICAD - but one that is often overlooked… yet it is one of my personal favorites!

Often when you select something using Find & Select or even Select All Walls, for example, it is difficult to know that you have the correct elements selected.  Well, with the help of this command, you can zoom directly to that selection and confirm it is what you think it is!  This is very useful, particularly in a busy model.

To use the command, select your elements then right click the mouse and choose Zoom to Selection as shown below:

Alternatively, you can find this command in View> Zoom> Zoom to Selection

"I attended a multi day training session with Chris and Link of BIM6x. Their knowledge of ARCHICAD, organization and accessibility during the course were exceptional. I left the class feeling more confident using ARCHICAD, with many useful techniques to save time and produce better drawings and models. It was extremely helpful to work with instructors that know the software inside and out and who were able to share their knowledge in a clear and enjoyable way."

“Having used Revit and ARCHICAD extensively, I can without hesitation say that ARCHICAD is BIM for architects. The ease of workflow from pre-design to schematic design to construction documents makes it ideal. There are so many time saving features. The fact that I can collaborate globally with minimal setup and that I can create anything my imagination comes up with is a great benefit to my architectural practice.”
