Edit Settings of all Tools at once!

Ken

How often do you grab a selection of Elements and want to change all their Layers to a different one - or set all the colors to be the same?  And then the frustration when you realise only one element type (the last one randomly selected) will change?

Well, this does not have to be the case!  Rather than using the Infobox or Element Settings (Line, Polyline etc), use the Edit Selection Set command…

To start, select all the Elements you wish to change the attributes of.  In the example below there are Lines, Arc, Circles, Polylines and a Spline:

Once selected, go to Edit> Element Settings> Edit Selection Set… or click the button highlighted in the Infobox below:

The following dialog appears with four main areas:

  1. Change the Layer of all Elements

  2. Change the Pen of all Elements

  3. Change the Renovation options for all Elements (further options appear for 3D Elements)

  4. Summary of Selected and Editable Elements

In this case, with only a few clicks four different Element types can be changed to a new Layer with a single color:

"We consider BIM6x a valuable part of our company. Not only have they customized templates to meet our office needs, their team is responsive and continues to provide the technical support we need for daily operations. This is a key service for any company who doesn't have an in-house BIM Manager."

"I attended a multi day training session with Chris and Link of BIM6x. Their knowledge of Archicad, organization and accessibility during the course were exceptional. I left the class feeling more confident using Archicad, with many useful techniques to save time and produce better drawings and models. It was extremely helpful to work with instructors that know the software inside and out and who were able to share their knowledge in a clear and enjoyable way."
