Find the Maximum Fillet/Chamfer Radius for Closed Polygons

Ken

When you are working with a closed polygon (Fill, Polyline, Slab, Roof etc) and want to apply a radius or chamfer to a corner you do not need to guess the maximum value, or work it out manually - you can get ARCHICAD to do this for you, automatically.

To find the maximum value is really simple - you select your closed polygon then click a corner and choose the Fillet/Chamfer… option as shown with the Fill below:

Don’t have boring drawing frames!

Ken

Drawing Frames in ARCHICAD and most packages are typically drawn as rectangles… but why stick with something so simple?  Did you know you can make the frame (boundary) of a drawing almost any shape?

Let's get one thing straight though before going too far into this - when we talk about a ‘drawing’ we are meaning a Drawing in the ARCHICAD sense.  This is either an imported document (PDF, image, DWG, DXF etc) or a View that has been saved then placed on a Layout.

"Chris and Link provide tremendous customer service and technical support. We run a small office in a small city, so our training opportunities are largely limited to online videos and tutorials. Chris and Link provided personalized training on a recent visit to our office, which has helped us take the next step in productivity. Using ARCHICAD on MAC computers is a no-brainer for us - especially with BIM6x supporting us so thoroughly."

"BIM6x combines the business support of Visual Motion with the ARCHICAD expertise of ArchiLINK in one superior organization. Visual Motion has long been a source of sales and support for Graphisoft’s ARCHICAD. Chris Clark’s support goes far beyond that and he is my go-to person for any ARCHICAD related issues. ArchiLINK’s continuing education and training is world-class. I’m excited to have the power of both together."
